Cranbourne is a fast-growing suburb located in Melbourne’s outer south-east, 43 km Melbourne CBD and within close proximity to East Link and Frankston Freeway. Cranbourne’s Local Government Area is the City of Casey.
Cranbourne has had a long history with the horse racing industry, having held its first meeting in 1867. These days, the modern racecourse and adjoining training complex are popular facilities, hosting the Cranbourne Cup and other carnivals.
Cranbourne is ideally situated just a short drive away from the many coastal attractions of the Mornington Peninsula and Western Port Bay, as well as being on the main route from Melbourne to Phillip Island.
The greater Cranbourne area consists of Cranbourne, Cranbourne North, Cranbourne East, Cranbourne South, Cranbourne West. Some additional suburbs that surround Cranbourne are Narre Warren South, Devon Meadows, Langwarrin, Clyde, and Junction Village.
