December finished the year with a respectable month and still gave us all enough time to relax and enjoy the Christmas break. We were closed between Christmas and New Year but both the sales and rental teams still took enquiry and there was a lot of activity over that period.
The sales team was very busy during the month and there was no respite close to Christmas or between the Christmas and New Year period. Matty Dewan and his team sold a property on Christmas eve, the second year in a row that he has done so, and Paul May sold another two during the break with many more going under offer and still being negotiated early in the New Year. Interesting to know that Paul May’s last two sales for the year were both over the asking price. This shows that once again the well priced and well presented properties are still creating great interest. We also had a flourish of sales in the week leading up to Christmas as people decided to finish their home searches before the New Year and secure a property and have time to relax over Christmas.
The rental department was also busy in December with good letting numbers. We are seeing a good number of brand new properties hitting the rental market as new estates are being completed and builders complete the building commenced during the year. These properties are always in high demand too.
Our listings numbers were great in both departments and this ensures we have plenty of stock to sell / lease early in the New Year. We expect 2012 to be a strong year for our business and another busy one for the greater Cranbourne area. The high level of activity over the last week or so of 2011 gives us renewed confidence in the market and we look forward to being of service to many more clients this year.
