NAB Cup – Demons vs Saints – Saturday 9th March

By Eleanor Hopkins

Get on down to Casey Fields in Cranbourne East to watch Melbourne take on St Kilda in their first ever NAB Cup match at the venue on Saturday 9 March 2013.

City of Casey Mayor Cr Amanda Stapledon said ‘Round 3 of the 2013 NAB Cup will be thrashed out at Casey Fields and the audience is in for some spectacular entertainment.

‘With a large crowd expected, people should get in early to purchase their tickets online via the Ticketmaster website.

‘If all of the tickets don’t sell out prior, a limited number will be available at the gate on the day’, added Cr Stapledon.

In recognition of Melbourne Football Club’s ongoing involvement in the Casey community through a 30-year partnership with Council, the club will host a free family fun event between 12 pm and 2 pm at the Casey Fields Regional Playground.

A range of free family activities will be on offer before the game at the regional playground area which is near where the match will kick off at 2.30 pm.

‘I encourage everyone in Casey regardless of their favourite footy team, to support Casey’s home team, the Demons, as they take on the Saints’, added Cr Stapledon.

Melbourne Football Club Chief Executive Cameron Schwab said it was exciting to bring an official NAB Cup fixture to Casey, the club having previously played a NAB Challenge match there.

‘We are really pleased to be playing a NAB Cup game at Casey Fields. We see it as a reward for our supporters in the region, as well as ongoing recognition of the strength of the club’s partnership with the City of Casey and a key element of our club’s growth strategy.

‘In 2008, the club signed a 30-year agreement with the City of Casey and we’re working hard to deliver community programs and business developments that provide real benefits to the region.

‘Clearly, playing more football in Casey is a big part of our plans and a major reason as to why we pushed hard to have a NAB Cup fixture at Casey this year’.

For young footy fans, the AFL is running a promotion for everyone under the age of 15 to get a free ticket to the NAB Cup match of their choice in Rounds 1, 2 and 3.The free junior ticket applies to advance sales only so visit Ticketmaster to get your tickets!
